Warm, golden, and a little fiery. The star is Lakadong turmeric from the West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, a GI tagged variety carrying one of the highest curcumin contents in the world, far above ordinary turmeric. With ginger and fennel it makes a glowing amber cup, long brewed as a daily ritual. Best hot, morning or midday, with a pinch of black pepper, the classic pairing for turmeric.

How to brew

  2. 2Heat water to 212°F.
  3. 3Steep 3 to 5 min. Longer for a stronger cup.
  4. 4A pinch of black pepper and honey to lift the turmeric.

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat, light, and moisture. After opening, reseal tightly.
